Archive of Nikiforos Vrettakos

The archive of the poet Nikiforos Vrettakos, the "poet of Taygetos", one of the greatest poets of the 20th century and one of the most important representatives of modern Greek literature is housed on the first floor of the Central Public Library.
The archive was founded in December 2000 and is a tribute to the great poet of Laconia, gathering rich archival material around his life and work.

It includes the furniture of his office, personal belongings and correspondence of the poet, photographs and personal distinctions as well as the largest part of his personal library, consisting of 4,500 books.

The Archive is accessible during the opening hours of the library. Opening hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 - 14:30
