Manousakeio Museum of Urban & Folk Life

The Manousakeio Museum of Urban & Folk Life is housed in a two-storey traditional building of the 19th century.
This building, along with household items, clothing, etc., was donated to the Municipality of Sparta in 1996 by the late Leonidas Manousakis.

The visitors of the Museum have the opportunity through the representations of the living spaces, the exhibitions of objects and the multimedia projections, to visit and "taste" aspects of the family & social life of another era, of the people who inhabited & created the new city of Sparta.

In a special showcase are exhibited family heirlooms donated to the Museum by Spartan citizens, who wish to share with visitors, not only the share of history that belongs to them but also the unique feeling that connects them with these precious objects.
